Advising Days, Tuesday, March 24 and Wednesday, March 25

The time is fast approaching for us to do enrollment advising for the Fall 2015 term.

Advising is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24 and Wednesday, March 25 (the Tuesday and Wednesday after Spring Break). An Engineering Enrollment Hold has been placed on your Enroll & Pay Account by the School of Engineering, and the only way to remove the hold is for you to meet with your advisor for enrollment advising.

To sign-up for an enrollment advising appointment, go to your advisor’s office door and sign-up on the schedule sheet; if you feel that you need more than 15 minutes with your advisor to talk about more than your Fall schedule (for example; transfer credit, long term degree planning, career advice, etc.), please feel free to sign up for two consecutive time slots. Please put that appointment on your personal planner, then return to your advisor’s office on the 24^th or 25^th for your appointment. In preparation for the appointment it is a good idea to look at what courses you will probably need to take next semester (checking the EECS Handbook, available on the EECS website, will help) and have an idea of what courses you plan to add to the Academic Program Planning form. (I have attached a copy of the form which is also available in the EECS office, Eaton 2001, and on the EECS website).

The Graduation Planner tool is an easy and effective way to plan out your classes all the way to graduation. We strongly encourage you to use this tool as you prepare for your advising appointment. Access the gradplan tool.

Once you and your advisor agree on your planned schedule for Fall 2015 both of you will sign your Academic Program Planning Form. You will then turn this form in to the front desk at the EECS Office (2001 Eaton), and your Engineering Advising Hold will be released. If there are any other holds on your Enroll & Pay account, you will need to take care of those as well. Once all of your holds are cleared, you will be free to complete your enrollment starting at the time given by your Enroll & Pay account.

If your advisor is Dr. Luo or Dr. Hui you will have advising BEFORE SPRING BREAK on Thursday, March 12, and Friday, March 13.

If your advisor is Dr. Perrins you will have advising on Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26.

If your advisor is Dr. Sterbezn you will have advising on Monday morning, March 23, Monday and Tuesday, March 31 and 31 and by appointment over Spring break.

If your advisor is Dr. Petr, Dr. Evans, or Dr. Stiles you will receive another email with instructions on how to make an advising appointment with him.

Please be aware that the department sets aside these two days for enrollment advising appointments. If you absolutely cannot meet during your advisor’s available times on those days, then please send him/her an email to schedule an appointment at some other time.
