Paper by EECS Faculty Member Selected as an Editor’s Pick of the Year for IEEE Transactions on Computers
A paper by Assistant Professor Heechul Yun was selected as “Editor’s pick of the year 2016” of IEEE Transactions on Computers. The paper, titled "Memory Bandwidth Management for Efficient Performance Isolation in Multi-Core Platforms," describes MemGuard, an OS-level memory bandwidth management system that is designed to achieve performance isolation among multiple applications on a multicore system. MemGuard utilizes hardware performance counters, which are commonly available on commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) multicore processors, making it practical. Each year, the IEEE Transactions on Computers identifies and selects a small group of papers as “Editor’s pick of the year.” These papers represent high quality work which are representative of the journal. These papers will be made available for free download by everyone for the full 2017 calendar year. IEEE Transactions on Computers is one of the top journals in the computer systems area; it is the flagship publication of the of the IEEE Computer Society, for about 65 years of publication this transaction has been the acknowledged reference for generations of researchers.
