PROFESSOR YANG YI RECEIVES FUNDING FROM AIR FORCE RESEARCH LAB FOR NEUROMORPHIC COMPUTING RESEARCH

Dr. Yang Yi, Assistant Professor in EECS, has received support from Air Force Research Lab for her research on understanding the fundamentals of neuron design in neuromorphic computing systems. Dr. Yi is serving as the sole principal investigator (PI) of this project. She and her students will conduct research to develop technology for building integrated computational environments for neuromorphic computing systems and distributing a set of advanced computational software tools based on this technology. This project will bridge high performance computing, nano technology, and telecommunications, as well as improve the computational efficiency and accuracy of channel estimation and spectrum sensing.
