Dellwig Earns Spot on KU Women of Distinction Calendar

Emily Dellwig (BSEE ’12) is featured on the 2012-13 KU Women of Distinction calendar, which recognizes 24 current students, faculty members, and alumnae for their outstanding achievements.

Now an Assistant Electrical Engineer at Burns & McDonnell, Dellwig was honored for breaking barriers in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) category. She was a team leader for the Jayhawk Motorsports Electric Car, which won first place at the Formula Hybrid Competition in May 2012. She also served as team leader for the first-ever Jayhawk Motorsports Hybrid Car in 2011.

Dellwig was part of the Self Engineering Leadership Fellows Program, an Engineering Ambassador, and president of Eta Kappa Nu. She was selected for Lambda Sigma Honor Society and Mortar Board. She is only the second KU student to win the prestigious Anita Borg Google Memorial Scholarship, which provides $10,000 scholarships to exceptional female undergraduate and graduate students in computer science and related technical fields.
