Barbecue Kicks Off New Semester
KU-IEEE had its annual kick off barbecue on August 28. Despite the inclement weather, more than 35 students and faculty turned out for the event.
"The kickball game was the highlight of the evening, and I think Professor [Ken] Demarest would agree," says Levi Lyons, president of KU-IEEE. EECS helped fund the event.
IEEE is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. The KU chapter aims to increase interest in the engineering profession. It serves as a source of professional and technical information.
The next meeting for KU-IEEE is at 6 p.m. on September 23 in Learned 3152. For more information, please e-mail the group.
EECS Professor Ken Demarest may have pulled a hammy racing to second.
