KU EECS Student Participates in NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Pathways Program


EECS student Luke Dercher worked last year on embedded development for scientific satellite missions in the Pathways program at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Dercher is a computer science major and a non-traditional student. He is 31 years old and a five-year veteran of the US Navy. Getting to work at NASA was a lifelong goal of his. While at NASA, he got to see the James Webb Space Telescope being prepared for launch. He was involved in challenging and exciting work. Dercher had the opportunity to work with an amazing team of dedicated coworkers. “It was an amazing experience, I would encourage anyone in KU EECS to follow your engineering dreams and to never underestimate what your capable of doing,” Dercher said
