Grant Given to the EECS Faculty Will Facilitate Better Access to Black Literature

October 2021. Drew Davidson, assistant professor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, is a collaborator on an $800,000, three-year grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded to KU’s Project on the History of Black Writing (HBW). Davidson is helping create tools that will allow researchers and the public to look at the entire corpus of Black fiction collected by HBW for nearly 40 years, by using keywords, themes, data visualizations, and other methods. Full Article
