EECS Student Wins Best Paper Award at the International Conference


An EECS student, Krushi Bharatbhai Patel, is the leading author of a paper that received the Best Student Paper award at the International Conference on Pattern Recognition. The paper introduces a module that significantly improves the performance of image classification compared to the existing methods. Image recognition is an enabling technology with a wide range of applications, for example, in autonomous driving.

The conference is the flagship conference of the International Association of Pattern Recognition and is co-sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society. Patel studies under Professor Fengjun Li.
