EECS Ph.D. Student Participates in Google Forum

Ph.D. student Daniel Fokum was one of 75 students invited to Google's first annual Graduate Researchers in Academia of Diverse backgrounds (GRAD) CS Forum from January 21-23. The forum will build and strengthen networks with other emerging researchers and include will include technical talks from various researchers, including Fokum. Students will also enjoy tours of the Googleplex in Mountain View, CA.

Eligibility requirements included applicants be a computer science (or related technical discipline) graduate student currently enrolled in a M.S. or Ph.D. program at a university in North America. They needed to demonstrate academic excellence and leadership in the computing field and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale in their current program.

The forum is committed to addressing diversity in our company and in the technology industry.
