ACM Tech Talk to Focus on Practical Applications of Big Data


Karl Kuntz, a software developer at Tradebot Systems, will present “Big Data Techniques for Historical Analysis and Visualization” at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in 3150 Learned.  The talk will highlight the practical applications of Big Data in industry.

Kuntz will discuss Tradebot's use of Hadoop and HBase clusters to perform historical analysis on message-based protocols and to develop methods of visualizing hundreds of millions of data points in near real time.
