I am currently a professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Kansas. I lead the KU Privacy and Security (KUPS) Group of the Information Assurance Lab at the Information & Telecommunication Technology Center (ITTC).

Research Interests

My research addresses a wide range of topics in computer and network security, including secure smart grid communication, anonymous routing, access control, misinformation detection, social network privacy, etc. My current research is focused in three areas:

  • Trustable and privacy-preserving federated learning
  • Adversarial machine learning
  • IoT security and privacy
