Professor James Rowland Named Fellow of the American Society for Engineering Education

Professor James Rowland has been named a Fellow of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). He has received this honor partly because of his ABET work for ASEE as well has being listed as a Founder for the IEEE/ASEE Frontiers in Education (FIE) Conference, now in its 46th year. This honor adds to a long list of achievements during Rowland’s career. Other accomplishments include: IEEE Fellow (1995), IEEE Centennial Medial (1984), Education Society Achievement Award (1986), Frontiers in Education Conference Award (1988). Professor Rowland is retiring this year after 32 years of service at the KU and the EECS Department. Combining his time at KU with his previous university experiences at Oklahoma State University and Georgia Institute of Technology, he has been teaching engineering students for a half a century. The personal and professional success of generations of his engineering students is one measure of his dedication and commitment to their education.
