Cybersecurity Graduate Certificate

Program Requirements

The Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity requires the completion of three core courses and one elective course at a total of 12 credit hours from the following courses.

Core Courses (3 courses, 9 credit hours required)

• IT 710: Information Security and Assurance
• IT 711: Security Management and Audit
• IT 712: Network Security and its Application

Elective Courses  (1 course, 3 credit hours required)

• IT 780: Communication Networks
• IT 811: IT Project Management

To complete the program and obtain the certificate, students must have a GPA of 3.0 or better on the required courses. The minimum grade for any course to be applied toward the certificate is a grade of C.

*No credits may be transferred from another institution for this certificate.

*The completion of the graduate certificate program does not lead to automatic admission to the Information Technology Masters program, particularly if the student lacks the BS degree in computing or related discipline. However, for students who are able to gain admission to the MSIT program, all the credits obtained in the certification program with a grade B or higher will count toward the MSIT degree within three years of earning the certificate.
