Petr Named Fulbright Scholar at University of Technology (TU-Graz), Austria for Spring 2016

Petr’s Fullbright Scholarship will continue KU’s ongoing relationship with the faculty of Electrical and Information Engineering at TU-Graz. He will develop and teach a novel undergraduate course in signals and communications, teach a graduate class in network performance analysis, and be involved in their ongoing networking communications research projects. TU-Graz research involves satellite communications scenarios that call for the use of delay-and-disruption-tolerant communication protocols. Petr will contribute to characterizing the performance of such protocols and perhaps the use of performance-enhancing proxies in such scenarios. Such satellites networks are also useful in disaster management situations, which have their own unique communications and networking properties and performance requirements. Petr’s experience at TU-Graz may open up new student exchange possibilities. Graz and KU are already exchange partners through the ISEP (International Student Exchange Programs) consortium, so there is a path for KU students to study for a semester at TU-Graz (or vice-versa).
