Recent EECS Ph.D. graduate Dr. David Harvie and Professor Dr. Arvin Agah won third place in the Best Paper competition at the 2016 American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Midwest Section


Recent EECS Ph.D. graduate Dr. David Harvie won third place in the Best Paper competition with a paper co-authored with his dissertation advisor Dr. Arvin Agah at the 2016 American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Midwest Section Conference in Manhattan, Kansas.  Dr. Harvie, is a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army and an assistant professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point, presented the paper titled, " A Balancing Act: Teaching and Researching Agile Software Development."  This paper captured the challenges of designing and teaching a special topics course on Agile Software Development that simultaneously gathered research data on a novel innovation of Scrum called Targeted Scrum and provided the students with a educationally sound understanding and practical experience of using an agile software development methodology to produce software.  This course was taught during Spring 2014.
